CP AXTRA Teams Up with Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) To Elevate Food Safety and Build Consumer Trust

Bangkok, 4 October 2024 - CP AXTRA, an operator of Asia’s leading wholesaler and retailer, Makro and Lotus’s, partnered with the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to cohost a seminar with suppliers, importers, and producers to elevate and reinforce "Food Safety Standards to Build Consumer Trust." In this event, a representative from the FDA shared valuable insights on creating product quality management processes from upstream to downstream. Moreover, a leading laboratory expert provided practical guidance on detecting pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables to elevate the standard of both imported and domestically sourced fresh produce. The seminar attracted over 80 participants.

The seminar featured expert speakers who offered in-depth knowledge and guidance:

  • Mr. Araya Rojjanawanicharkorn, an FDA representative, delivered a talk on “Safety Processes and Knowledge on Pesticide Residues in Vegetables and Fruits.”
  • Ms. Jaruwan Limsajjakul, Laboratory Director of AMARC and former Deputy Director General of the Department of Medical Sciences, provided practical guidance on “Residue Testing in Fruits and Vegetables for Safe Consumption.”
