Translation 9 August 2002 Subject : Submission of Financial Statements for the quarter 2/2002 To : Director and Manager Stock Exchange of Thailand Enclosed please find the consolidated Financial Statements of Siam Makro Public Company Limited for the second quarter ended June 30, 2002 which have been reviewed by the Company's external auditor. For the second quarter of 2002, the Company's net profit was Baht 350.7 million, increased by 36.2% as compared to same period of last year. The increase was due mainly to the gain from disposition of investment in Makro Auto Care Co., Ltd. together with the reduction in total selling and administrative expenses by 7.9% from same quarter last year.
